AD/HD is a condition that affects millions. For some people, it can be quite debilitating – causing anxiety and depression as a result of not being able to focus on tasks and control one’s impulses.
There is sadly no cure for AD/HD, but there are many ways to manage it. For those who don’t have severe AD/HD, such management techniques can allow someone to live a fairly normal life. Below are just some of the ways to manage AD/HD.

Develop a routine
Adopting a routine and sticking rigidly to it could help to prevent distractions and disorganization. If you have trouble organizing yourself in the morning, consider creating a morning schedule in which you list out every morning task to be completed at a specific time. For certain parts of your morning routine, you may want to break down tasks. By sticking to this routine, you won’t forget tasks or find yourself getting sidetracked.
Set alarms
Phone alarms are a great way to stay on schedule. Consider setting alarms throughout the day to tell you when to do certain tasks so that you don’t lose track of time. When starting a brand new task for the first time, you may even want to give yourself a time limit with an alarm (useful if you often get hyper-focused and end up staying up all night engaging in tasks).
Minimize distractions
To help you focus on tasks that require concentration, find ways to limit distractions. If you’re easily put off by noises when trying to work, consider wearing noise-canceling headphones. Some people like to play music to keep them engaged on a task, but others can find it distracting – work out what is best for you. You may also want to consider turning off your phone when trying to focus on certain tasks. Alternatively, if you need to use your phone for alarms, consider using social media blocking apps or putting your phone into airplane mode.
Look into medication
Drugs like Adderall are sometimes prescribed to people with AD/HD. They can help to decrease hyperactivity and focus one’s concentration. Make an appointment with your doctor to find out if you are eligible to use this drug and see how it affects you. Not everyone is keen on taking medications to treat this condition, and some people may experience side effects that can put them off. It’s worth noting that some people find herbal medicines like ginseng and ginkgo biloba to be a great alternative for improving concentration.
Consider To Speak To A Therapist or A Healing Coach
Finally, you might want to consider speaking to a therapist or booking private coaching sessions with me. Speaking to someone you can trust is often a great way to do this. It means that you’ll be able to approach these issues from a psychological point of view and ensure that they no longer have a hold on you in life.
A therapist who specializes in AD/HD management may be able to suggest helpful tips to help you manage this condition better. They can also help you deal with some of the emotional problems that may stem from AD/HD. A common form of therapy used to aid those with AD/HD is cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). This involves helping people to change unhealthy thoughts and behaviors caused by AD/HD (which can vary from individual to individual).
Now you.
I hope this helps you understand some of the key steps that you must take if you suffer from AD/HD. By exploring these options, you can maintain control of your life and keep moving forward.
